Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install auditorium foldable chairs with concealed writing boards, aimed at replacing worn-out or condemned chairs in the Jozini Malaria Control auditorium. The project seeks to enhance seating comfort, functionality, and durability within the specified venue.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and professional installation of foldable tip-up seats with integrated writing boards. It includes pre-installation site preparation, layout approval, floor inspection, marking, fixing and anchoring of chairs, assembly, alignment, finishing, and testing to ensure operational reliability and compliance with specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of sample fabric and chairs for approval prior to supply.
• Liability for damages during installation, especially on porcelain floors.
• Supply of a guarantee letter from the manufacturer confirming at least 5 years warranty.
• Pre-installation site preparation including layout approval, floor inspection, and marking.
• Use of specified materials such as cold rolled steel or die-cast aluminum for legs and framework, coated for rust resistance.
• High-density polyurethane foam cushioning over metal sub-frames.
• Tip-up mechanism with torsion springs or gravity-fold stainless steel mechanism for automatic return to upright position.
• Floor anchoring with heavy-duty bolts (minimum M8x100mm per leg).
• Assembly with armrests and stanchions ensuring safety and ergonomic standards.
• Standardized seat dimensions (arm-to-arm) between 500mm to 600mm, with a minimum row clearance of 450mm to 500mm.
• Final finishing includes secure numbering and testing of tip-up mechanisms for smooth operation.
