Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the supply, construction, and fitting of purpose-made floating shelves and honorary boards at the Council Hall in Malmesbury. The aim is to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the Council Hall through the installation of these custom-made fixtures.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of all necessary materials and components for the floating shelves and honorary boards.
• Construction and fabrication of purpose-made floating shelves and honorary boards according to specified requirements.
• Fitting and installation of the fabricated shelves and boards at the designated location within the Council Hall.

The contract is estimated to be within a value of up to R300,000.

Technical Requirements

The tender must adhere to the following technical specifications:

• All work must comply with the specifications detailed in the official bid documentation.
• Construction must meet the standards set out by the relevant regulations and the Council’s specifications.
• The materials used should be of appropriate quality to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal.
• Installation must be carried out professionally, ensuring safety and stability of the fixtures.

Additionally, bidders are required to participate in a compulsory site visit scheduled for 4 June 2026 at 10:00 at the Council Chambers.

Skills Requirements

Suitable service providers must demonstrate:

• Registration with the CIDB in a GB Class of construction works with a grading designation equal to or higher than the value of the contract.
• Experience in constructing and installing similar floating shelves and honorary boards.
• Capability to deliver quality workmanship within the specified timeframe and budget.
• Understanding of relevant construction standards and safety regulations.
