Objectives

The primary objective is to procure and deliver essential domestic furniture to Greytown Hospital to support staff and resident accommodation. The procurement also aims to advance socio-economic transformation by prioritizing South African-owned enterprises through the government's preferential procurement framework, while ensuring strict compliance with public sector supply chain management regulations.

Scope

This is a one-off supply contract covering a total of 28 furniture units. The requirement includes:

• Seven (7) four-seater lounge suits
• Seven (7) double bed sets (137cm)
• Fourteen (14) side tables

The successful bidder is responsible for sourcing, packaging, and delivering all items directly to Greytown Hospital. All transportation, handling, and delivery costs must be fully incorporated into the quoted price. The contract does not include installation, assembly, or long-term maintenance services beyond the standard warranty period.

Technical Requirements

All supplied items must conform to South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) quality benchmarks. Bidders must adhere to an "air conditioned specification", which refers to furniture engineered to withstand controlled indoor temperatures and humidity levels typical of hospital environments without warping, degrading, or compromising hygiene standards. Additional technical conditions include:

• New Condition Only: Second-hand, refurbished, or expired products will be rejected. All goods must have a minimum remaining validity period of six months upon delivery.
• Samples: Physical samples must be provided for evaluation against the stated specifications prior to contract award.
• Warranty: A standard warranty of twelve (12) months after delivery/acceptance or eighteen (18) months from shipment, whichever concludes first, covers defects in design, materials, or workmanship.
• Pricing & Validity: Prices must be firm for ninety (90) days. Quoted rates must exclude VAT (if applicable) but include all delivery charges.
• Documentation: Full completion of the official quotation forms, including the mandatory specification compliance annexure, is required. Failure to indicate compliance results in disqualification.

Skills Requirements

As this is a goods-supply tender rather than a service contract, specialized professional or trade qualifications are not mandated. However, bidders must demonstrate the following operational and administrative capabilities:

• Logistics & Inventory Management: Ability to coordinate timely manufacturing/sourcing, secure packaging, and last-mile delivery to the hospital site without delays.
• Administrative Competence: Proficiency in compiling and submitting mandatory compliance documentation, including Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration, tax clearance verification, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) status proof, and statutory disclosure forms.
• Financial Stability: Sufficient working capital to execute a single-delivery contract without performance defaults or breach of payment terms.

Bidders failing to meet any administrative, capacity, or specification stage will be deemed non-responsive and excluded from further evaluation.
