Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply plumbing, carpentry, and painting materials, including tools and accessories, to Rietvlei Hospital. The aim is to ensure the hospital has adequate hardware and materials for maintenance, repairs, and related works, while adhering to specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope of the contract includes:

• Supply and delivery of plumbing, carpentry, and painting materials as detailed in the specifications.
• Provision of all labor necessary for the installation and commissioning of supplied materials.
• Execution of work on-site at Rietvlei District Hospital, with minimal disruption to hospital operations.
• Guarantee of materials and workmanship for a minimum period of three (3) months from delivery.
• Completion within a stipulated period of one week from site handover.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Materials must conform to specified standards, including SABS or SANS approval where applicable.
• Supply of plumbing hardware such as copper pipes, valves, geysers, and associated fittings.
• Provision of plumbing tools and equipment, all SABS approved.
• Supply of carpentry and painting materials, including paints, primers, and related accessories.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including preparation of a health and safety plan and risk assessment.
• Installation must adhere to South African National Standards, Electrical and Building Regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• All work must be completed in accordance with the specifications and standards provided by the Department of Health and relevant authorities.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in plumbing, carpentry, and painting works.
• Qualified personnel with experience in executing similar projects within healthcare or institutional settings.
• Ability to prepare and implement health and safety plans, including risk assessments.
• Competence in handling and installing materials according to standards, with proper quality assurance.
• Capacity to coordinate delivery, installation, and commissioning within tight timeframes and minimal disruption.
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards, regulations, and procurement policies.
