Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of heavy-duty plastic storage bins and crates to Umgeni Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal, in accordance with specified standards and requirements. The aim is to ensure the hospital has durable, standardized storage solutions for various operational needs, including transporting supplements and storing medicines.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of:

• Heavy-duty plastic storage bins, including sizes and specifications detailed in the tender documents.
• Heavy-duty collapsible crates suitable for transporting supplies within the hospital.
• Delivery of these items to Umgeni Hospital, Old Main Road, Howick, KwaZulu-Natal.
• Compliance with technical specifications, standards, and quality requirements as outlined in the annexure and specifications forms.

The procurement is a once-off supply, with the possibility of additional related items as specified, and includes adherence to delivery timelines and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Plastic storage bins of size 5, with dimensions approximately 280mm (L) x 140mm (W) x 130mm (H), waterproof, rustproof, oil and chemical resistant, stackable, capable of handling 25kg load, made from lightweight, robust polypropylene, with space for labels.
• Heavy-duty collapsible plastic crates measuring approximately 38.5cm (W) x 30cm (B) x 14cm (H), rectangular, dishwasher safe, made from heavy-duty plastic, complying with specified quality standards.
• Storage bins in green (150 units) and red (50 units), with detailed compliance to size, material, and durability standards.
• Additional specifications for storage and transport, including waterproofing, stackability, and capacity requirements.

Skills Requirements
