Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install one large capacity (non-refrigerated) centrifuge at the NHLS Umtata Chemistry Laboratory. The procurement aims to acquire a reliable, compliant, and fully functional centrifuge that meets specified technical standards, ensuring efficient laboratory operations and compliance with relevant regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply of one large capacity (non-refrigerated) centrifuge suitable for laboratory use.
• Installation and commissioning of the centrifuge at NHLS Umtata Chemistry Laboratory.
• Provision of operator manual, warranty, and after-sale services for a minimum of one year, with options for extended support.
• Ensuring the equipment complies with technical specifications, safety standards, and relevant certifications.

The centrifuge must meet the following specifications:

• Run time: Variable (5.0%)
• Operational noise: Not exceeding 70dBA (5.0%)
• Ambient temperature range: 10 - 35°C (5.0%)
• Rotor type: Swing out (10.0%)
• Tube compatibility: Vacutainer 5ml and 7ml, with minimum 96 tubes capacity (15.0%)
• Safety features: Safety covers, window lid, electronic keypad, door safety lock, manual opening during power failure (10.0%)
• Additional features: Fast stop option, ISO 13485 certification from manufacturer, after-sale service for 5 years, compliance with electrical standards, and delivery within 6 weeks.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in the supply, installation, and commissioning of laboratory centrifuges.
• Experience in providing after-sale support, maintenance, and training for laboratory equipment.
• Capability to ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical standards, and relevant certifications such as ISO 13485.
• Provision of references for similar contracts successfully executed, demonstrating capacity and reliability.
• Qualified personnel to handle installation, calibration, and user training.
• Ability to deliver within the stipulated timeframe and provide ongoing after-sales service and support.
