Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install a 5000L water tank along with a water purification system at NHLS CALA Lab to ensure safe drinking water provision. The project aims to enhance water quality and supply infrastructure at the facility, ensuring compliance with safety and health standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of a 5000L vertical water storage tank connected to municipal water sources.
• Provision and installation of a 3-stage Big Blue filtration unit with UV sterilizer (stainless steel, 55W).
• Excavation, leveling, and foundation work for the tank.
• Construction of reinforced strip footings, mass concrete beds, and associated civil works.
• Provision of plumbing, including connections, valves, and certification.
• Installation of water supply fixtures, including sinks, taps, geysers, toilets, and emergency showers.
• Electrical installations for lighting, power outlets, and equipment, compliant with safety standards.
• Finishing works including painting, tiling, glazing, and partitioning as per specifications.
• Ensuring safety, quality, and compliance throughout the project duration.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• A 5000L vertical storage tank with necessary inlet and outlet connections.
• A 3-stage Big Blue filtration unit with stainless steel construction and UV sterilizer (55W).
• Civil works: excavation, reinforced strip footings, concrete beds, and site leveling.
• Plumbing: certified plumbers to install water connections, valves, and fixtures.
• Electrical: certified electricians to install wiring, switches, Geysers, and lighting in accordance with SANS10142 standards.
• Sanitary fixtures: white glazed ceramic sinks, stainless steel sinks, toilets, urinals, and emergency showers with appropriate fittings.
• Finishing: painting, tiling, glazing, drywall partitioning, and door installation as per detailed specifications.
• Safety: comprehensive safety files, site safety measures, and compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• CIDB registration with a grading of at least 1GB or higher.
• Proven experience in installing water tanks and purification systems of similar capacity.
• At least three references for completed projects of similar scope and value (not older than 3 years).
• Qualified project manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and relevant certification in project management.
• Licensed plumbers with a valid Plumbing Trade Test certificate.
• Qualified electricians with Wiremans license and relevant electrical certification.
• Capability to execute civil, plumbing, electrical, and finishing works according to specifications and safety standards.
• Ability to coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical, and finishing works efficiently within the project timeline.
