Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply mechanical materials to Newcastle Regional Hospital, ensuring the provision of quality, standards-compliant products to support hospital operations and maintenance activities.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of various mechanical materials including cutting discs, drill bits, grinding discs, grease, degreasers, rivets, welding rods, and stainless steel rods, as detailed in the specifications. The procurement is a once-off requirement for Newcastle Regional Hospital, with an emphasis on meeting technical and quality standards such as SABS and SANS.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of mechanical materials as per detailed specifications, including sizes, materials, and standards (SABS, SANS).
• Items must be new, unused, and conform to the latest models and design improvements.
• All products must meet quality standards and be compliant with relevant specifications.
• Packaging must prevent damage during transit and comply with special requirements specified in the contract.
• Delivery must be timely, with appropriate documentation, and fully insured against loss or damage.
• Samples may be required for evaluation, and submission must adhere to specified procedures.
• Suppliers must disclose any interest or relationship with personnel in the Department of Health to prevent conflicts of interest.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Proven capacity to supply mechanical materials, demonstrated through at least one valid order for hardware materials in a private or public health facility.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards (SABS, SANS).
• Experience in timely delivery and proper handling of similar procurement requirements.
• Compliance with administrative and mandatory documentation, including valid registration on the Central Suppliers Database, tax clearance, and B-BBEE certification.
• Capacity to provide samples for evaluation upon request.
• Ability to disclose any conflicts of interest and adhere to procurement regulations and ethical standards.
