Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply of portering services to RK Khan Hospital. The service aims to support hospital operations by providing porters and messengers to assist with patient transfer, delivery of equipment, documents, and other materials, as well as supporting emergency and routine hospital functions.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of portering and messenger services at RK Khan Hospital and Clairwood Hospital.
• Coverage of services across 7 days a week, including public holidays, with specified day and night shifts.
• Deployment of 14 staff members, including one team leader, to perform tasks such as patient transfer, transportation of medical equipment, delivery of documents and medication, and assisting hospital staff in emergencies.
• Adherence to specified hours, service standards, and hospital protocols for safety and efficiency.
• Compliance with all relevant health, safety, infection control, and occupational standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, stretchers, trolleys, and beds for patient and equipment transfer.
• Transport of patients, corpses, medical equipment, and documents in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Provision of trained, uniformed staff with proper PPE, including embroidered uniforms and name tags.
• Staff must be trained on equipment use, infection control, safety procedures, and hospital standards prior to contract commencement.
• Staff must be courteous, professional, and available during specified shifts, with provisions for replacements as needed.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety, infection prevention, hospital standards, and patient rights.
• Adherence to contractual hours, staffing levels, and service quality benchmarks.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Demonstrated experience in portering and messenger services, with proof such as CVs and references.
• Ability to manage and deploy staff effectively across shifts, ensuring full staffing at all times.
• Knowledge of hospital protocols, patient handling, and safety procedures.
• Training in occupational health and safety, infection control, and equipment handling.
• Capacity to develop and implement a project roll-out plan covering initiation, execution, and monitoring.
• Financial capacity to sustain staffing and service delivery, including detailed wage and overhead breakdowns.
• Ability to meet minimum qualifying scores in capacity and compliance assessments.
