Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service provider for the supply of portering services at RK Khan Hospital for a duration of two months. The service aims to support hospital operations by providing porters and messengers to assist with patient transfer, delivery of equipment and materials, and related tasks to ensure efficient hospital functioning and high-quality patient care.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of portering and messenger services at RK Khan Hospital for a contract period of 2 months.
• Deployment of 14 porters, including a team leader, to perform duties across various hospital departments.
• Activities such as assisting with patient transfers, transporting medical equipment, delivering documents and specimens, and supporting emergency responses.
• Adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and occupational health requirements.
• Provision of staff uniforms, PPE, and ensuring staff conduct in line with hospital and legal standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Compliance with hospital operational hours: day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, stretchers, trollies, and carts for patient and equipment transfer.
• Transporting patients, corpses, medical equipment, and documents securely and cautiously.
• Adherence to safety, infection control, and occupational health standards.
• Provision of staff with appropriate uniforms, badges, PPE, and training prior to contract commencement.
• Staffing levels: 14 personnel including a supervisor, with provisions for replacements and absences.
• Compliance with hospital policies, security protocols, and patient rights charters.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Demonstrated experience in portering and messenger services, with evidence such as CVs and references.
• Supervisory experience in similar service provision, with at least 3 years in managing portering/messenger teams.
• Financial capacity to sustain the service, including a detailed plan for project financing and payment intervals.
• Ability to develop and execute a detailed project roll-out plan covering initiation, launch, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of hospital safety standards, infection control, and occupational health regulations.
• Trained staff familiar with hospital equipment, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Provision of staff with proper uniforms, PPE, and identification badges.
• Capacity to replace absent staff promptly and maintain continuous service delivery.
