Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to develop, update, and enhance the content, graphic design, creative messaging, photography, and user-friendly information dissemination for the City of Johannesburg Transport Department’s Rea Vaya BRT website and social media platforms. The goal is to provide regular, informative, creative, and engaging communication to passengers and stakeholders, promoting safe, affordable, and reliable public transport services. Additionally, the project aims to improve internal communication, increase public awareness, and promote Rea Vaya as the preferred mode of transport in Johannesburg.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Content collection, verification, and management for the Rea Vaya website and social media platforms.
• Development and uploading of articles, press releases, and creative content (articles, infographics, videos) on a weekly basis for six months.
• Design and improvement of website layout, graphics, and user interface for easy navigation and readability.
• Creation of visual materials including screenshots, infographics, and videos, including aerial photography.
• Provision of project team support including project management, graphic design, photography, videography, and content creation.
• Implementation of innovative solutions to enhance service delivery, public engagement, and brand promotion.
• Regular updates and reports, including links to Rea Vaya apps and social media channels.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Development of a user-friendly, attractive, and meaningful website design that reflects the Rea Vaya brand.
• Content management system for uploading articles, press releases, and multimedia content.
• Creation of infographics, screenshots, and videos (including live and aerial photography).
• Integration of social media platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter) with the website for seamless communication.
• Provision of graphic design work, including layout improvements and creatives, at least three times weekly.
• Development of interactive and engaging content such as infographics and videos weekly.
• Support for ongoing project management, content editing, and creative support.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and copyright laws.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proficiency in website development, graphic design, and multimedia content creation.
• Experience in social media management and digital communication strategies.
• Skills in photography, including aerial photography, and video capturing/editing.
• Ability to develop creative and innovative communication solutions tailored to public transport users.
• Strong project management and coordination skills to deliver content consistently over six months.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards relevant to content production activities.
• Understanding of municipal procurement policies and compliance with relevant legislation.
