Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitably accredited service provider to deliver a training program leading to the National Certificate in Landscaping NQF 3 (SAQA ID 66649). The training aims to equip participants with practical and theoretical skills in landscaping, including plant structures, nutrient management, pest control, turf maintenance, and pruning practices.

Scope

The scope of the project includes:

• Provision of training for 16 employees from the Parks Department.
• Completion of the training within a 12-month period.
• Delivery of the training in English and/or Afrikaans.
• Utilization of various training methods such as facilitation, case studies, role play, practical exercises, and face-to-face sessions.
• Submission of a certified SETA accreditation certificate as part of the bid.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the training include:

• Accredited Occupational Certificate: National Certificate in Landscaping NQF 3.
• Demonstration of skills such as identifying plant structures, correcting nutrient deficiencies, pest control, turf mowing and de-thatching, and pruning for flowering.
• Training must be delivered face-to-face, incorporating facilitation, case studies, role play, and practical focus on competency.
• Training materials, stationery, and all associated costs must be included in the unit rate.
• Provision of competency certification for delegates upon successful completion.
• Pricing must include VAT and be based on the actual number of participants who complete the training.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Accreditation with the relevant SETA, evidenced by a certified accreditation certificate.
• Experience in delivering accredited landscaping training programs.
• Ability to facilitate training in both English and Afrikaans, using interactive and practical methods.
• Capacity to provide qualified trainers with relevant expertise in landscaping and horticulture.
• Provision of detailed invoices and adherence to the agreed service level agreement.
