Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure repair services for water towers, specifically focusing on after-service repairs to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards at Victoria Mxenge Hospital. The aim is to select qualified service providers capable of performing comprehensive maintenance, repairs, and associated tasks to uphold operational safety and efficiency.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Performing after-service repairs on water towers at Victoria Mxenge Hospital.
• Replacement of non-return valves, gauges, air bleed valves, ball valves, and water feed lines.
• Repair of water return lines and associated pipework.
• Provision of all necessary materials, components, and ancillary parts as specified.
• Adherence to safety, quality, and technical standards outlined in the specifications and end-user requirements.
• Completion of work within the stipulated contract period, with proper documentation and reporting.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Replacement of specified valves and gauges with compliant, certified components.
• Use of materials meeting specified standards (e.g., SABS quality, PN 16 pressure rating).
• Adherence to safety standards, including proper signage, PPE, and site safety protocols.
• Completion of work within the agreed timeline, with daily job sheets and sign-offs.
• Provision of detailed reports on faults, parts used, and work performed.
• Compliance with end-user specifications and safety standards, including CIDB registration and certified CVs of personnel.
• Submission of all required documentation, including safety files, invoices, and work plans.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from service providers include:

• Certified trade-tested fitters and instrumentation fitters with comprehensive CVs (original and certified).
• Qualified safety officers with relevant certifications and experience.
• Personnel experienced in plumbing, pipework, and valve replacement, familiar with SABS standards.
• Ability to prepare and submit detailed work plans, safety documentation, and reports.
• Proven track record in executing maintenance and repair works in hospital or similar critical infrastructure environments.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including site safety induction and PPE usage.
