Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure advertising services for Johannesburg Water, including the placement of tenders, vacancies, water quality results, and other general notices across various newspapers and media platforms. The aim is to ensure maximum exposure, public awareness, and effective communication with stakeholders, service providers, job seekers, and the general public.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Advertising tenders in classified sections of newspapers such as Citizen, Sowetan, The Star, City Press, and others.
• Advertising job vacancies across multiple newspapers and digital media platforms.
• Advertising water quality results in various newspapers and media outlets.
• Liaising with newspaper houses to ensure correct placement, proofing, and timely publication of advertisements.
• Providing digital proofs and tear sheets of published advertisements.
• Maintaining good relationships with newspaper houses and ensuring compliance with Johannesburg Water’s requirements.
• Ad hoc placements and urgent advertisement requests as needed.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Placement of advertisements in specified newspapers and sections, both in print and digital media.
• Adherence to specified sizes, formats, and placement sections as per Johannesburg Water’s instructions.
• Provision of proof of placement (tear sheets, PDFs) within 24 hours of publication.
• Preparation and submission of quotations for advertisements, followed by placement within deadlines.
• Ensuring advertisements are placed in the correct sections and on the specified dates.
• Maintaining credit facilities/support with newspaper houses for timely placements.
• Handling urgent placements and ad hoc requests efficiently.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must possess:

• Experience in advertising and media placement, particularly in newspapers and digital platforms.
• Strong communication and liaison skills to coordinate with newspaper houses and Johannesburg Water officials.
• Proofreading and quality assurance skills to ensure advertisements meet specifications.
• Ability to prepare accurate quotations and manage timely placements.
• Good understanding of media schedules, deadlines, and placement procedures.
• Technical capability to provide digital proofs and tear sheets promptly.
• Knowledge of municipal and legal requirements related to advertising and procurement.
