Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a panel of qualified service providers capable of delivering catering services for the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL). These services will support House Sittings, Committees’ Meetings, and other related special events over a period of 24 months. The aim is to ensure the provision of high-quality, reliable catering that meets the needs of Members, staff, and attendees during various official functions.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of catering services for House Sittings, Committees’ Meetings, and other special events as required by the GPL.
• Preparation and delivery of food and beverages in accordance with the menu guide provided by the GPL (Annexure A).
• Ensuring timely delivery of catering services to specified venues.
• Maintaining high standards of food presentation, hygiene, and safety throughout service provision.
• Accommodating various dietary requirements and preferences, including last-minute requests.
• Providing necessary catering equipment such as crockery, tablecloths, serving dishes, and warm trays, which must be clean and of high quality.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Adherence to health and safety regulations, with valid health certificates submitted.
• Provision of a diverse menu that caters to different dietary needs and cultural preferences.
• Ability to deliver services reliably, punctually, and professionally.
• Demonstration of culinary expertise through relevant qualifications and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in catering services.
• Provision of a qualified culinary team, including a Head Chef with appropriate qualifications and experience.
• Implementation of quality assurance measures, including regular monitoring and feedback mechanisms.
• Flexibility to accommodate last-minute changes and special requests.
• Compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards, including proper food handling and packaging.

Skills Requirements

Service providers must demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

• Culinary Expertise: Relevant culinary qualifications and at least 2 years’ experience in catering.
• Menu Diversity: Ability to prepare a variety of foods suitable for different dietary and cultural needs.
• Reliability: Consistent delivery of quality services on time and with professionalism.
• Hygiene and Safety: Strict adherence to hygiene, health, and safety regulations, supported by valid health certificates.
• Adaptability: Capacity to handle last-minute requests and menu adjustments effectively.
• Presentation Skills: High standards in food presentation and service setup, reflecting creativity and professionalism.
