Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to supply and maintain scuba gear for SAEON over a five-year period. The contractor will be responsible for providing maintenance, repairs, spare parts, and supplying scuba-related equipment as needed to support SAEON’s operational requirements.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of scuba gear maintenance and repair services, including unscheduled servicing and replacement of dysfunctional parts.
• Installation of parts to enhance gear functionality upon request.
• Supply of a comprehensive range of scuba equipment such as masks, snorkels, fins, wetsuits, weights, dive computers, cylinders, regulators, and accessories.
• Delivery of initial equipment (Table 2) and ad-hoc supplies (Table 3) throughout the contract period.
• Ensuring items are in stock or can be provisioned within four weeks.
• Adherence to safety and quality standards, including compliance with SANS 10019 Pressure Equipment Regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Supply and maintenance of specified scuba gear listed in the detailed specifications, including pressure gauges, dive computers, cylinders, regulators, BCDs, hoses, and accessories.
• Provision of spare parts and consumables, with certification of hydrostatic tests and inspections as per SANS 10019.
• Delivery of initial equipment as a one-off purchase and ongoing ad-hoc supplies based on requests.
• Compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to supply equipment within four weeks of order placement.
• Provision of detailed quotations with specifications and unit costs.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

The service provider must possess:

• Certification as an accredited Poseidon & AquaLung Service Agent or equivalent, with proof of accreditation or service reports from an authorized agent.
• Technical expertise in servicing and repairing scuba gear, including hydrostatic testing and inspections.
• Experience in supplying and maintaining a wide range of scuba equipment and accessories.
• Knowledge of safety standards and pressure equipment regulations (SANS 10019).
• Capability to deliver equipment and services within specified timeframes.
• Qualified personnel with relevant technical skills in scuba gear maintenance and repair.
