Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider responsible for the supply, delivery, and assembly of nine (9) boardroom tables at the ATNS Head Office. The service provider must ensure the provision of high-quality office furniture that meets specified structural and environmental standards, including cable management features and environmental responsibility throughout the product lifecycle.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply of nine (9) office boardroom tables with specified dimensions and features, including cable management and a centre column for cabling.
• Delivery of the tables to the ATNS Head Office.
• Assembly and structural testing of the tables to ensure stability and durability.
• Provision of wooden tops finished in a desired colour, applying Rubio Monocoat oil plus 2C.
• Compliance with environmental standards, safety, and quality assurance regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the tables include:

• European wooden tops finished in the desired colour, laminated in 2 or 3 pieces, with three power docks.
• Powder-coated rectangular steel bases made from steel tube compliant with SANS 657-1 (Def 3.1) CQ / SAE 1008.
• Dimensions: A = 1m wide x 1m long x 720mm height; total assembly length of 2.6m with 500mm space between A and B; height of 720mm; two assemblies spaced 1m apart.
• Table tops measuring approximately 2200mm x 40mm thick, finished with environmentally friendly, non-toxic, low-VOC glues and coatings.
• Cable management underneath the tables.
• Structural integrity testing before acceptance.

Skills and Compliance Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying, delivering, and assembling office furniture, supported by at least two (2) reference letters from recent projects within the last 5 years.
• Environmental responsibility, including sourcing timber from recycled or renewable sources, and compliance with relevant acts such as SANS standards, National Environmental Management Act, and the National Forests Act.
• Capability to build and assemble furniture units with structural support, ensuring stability and durability.
• Adherence to safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
• Provision of warranty for a minimum of 10 years on materials and workmanship.
• Compliance with quality standards and testing procedures, ensuring high workmanship and durability.
• Ability to deliver immediately to the designated ATNS site at their own risk and cost, with proof of delivery and environmental responsibility documentation.
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and submission of valid tax clearance certificates and declarations of interest.
