Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider or providers to supply, deliver, install, and maintain gym equipment for the State Security Agency (SSA). The initiative aims to promote health, fitness, and well-being among SSA personnel, thereby increasing productivity and morale. The project also seeks to encourage SSA members to take care of their physical health through accessible and well-maintained gym facilities.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply of gym equipment as detailed in the specifications.
• Delivery of equipment to SSA headquarters in Pretoria and provincial offices across South Africa.
• Installation of the gym equipment at designated locations.
• Provision of two (2) years of free maintenance and support for the supplied equipment.

The equipment includes various fitness machines such as treadmills, stair climbers, fitness steps, weight plates, barbells, dumbbells, and other related accessories, with specified quantities and delivery points across multiple locations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements are detailed in Part 2 of the specifications and include:

• Non-motorized curve treadmill with real running experience.
• Stair climber with electromagnetic braking, preset programs, and safety features.
• Fitness steps with adjustable height and included accessories.
• Commercial-grade weight plates, barbells, dumbbells, and other strength training equipment.
• High-capacity, durable gym machines with lifetime or multi-year warranties.
• Equipment must meet safety, durability, and usability standards, including features like anti-skid technology, adjustable components, and multi-media compatibility.
• All equipment must be suitable for high-volume, commercial gym environments.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• At least three (3) years of relevant experience in supplying and maintaining gym equipment.
• Proven track record with testimonials or references from similar projects.
• Qualified personnel for installation, maintenance, and support services.
• Capability to provide warranties, guarantees, and after-sales support.
• Compliance with security clearance requirements for personnel involved in the project.
• Financial capacity to undertake the contract, supported by audited financial statements or bank confirmation.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards applicable to gym equipment and facilities.

Additionally, bidders should possess the organizational capacity to deliver across multiple locations and adhere to the specified timelines and contractual obligations.
