Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider responsible for disposing of unserviceable, redundant, dilapidated, and/or obsolete technical equipment at SABC Auckland Park. The selected provider will ensure proper handling, data formatting, and asset removal to update SABC’s asset register, at no cost to the organization, with a preference for a provider willing to take the entire lot.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Disposal of various obsolete technical assets located at SABC Auckland Park.
• Collaborating with SABC staff to compile a register of assets removed.
• Ensuring data related to assets is formatted appropriately.
• Removing assets from the SABC asset register.
• Providing a comprehensive, competitive offer for the entire lot of assets.

Note: The transaction should be at no cost to SABC, and preference will be given to providers offering to take the entire lot.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Guarantee that all data related to assets will be formatted correctly.
• Work closely with SABC staff to verify and compile a detailed register of assets to be disposed of.
• Ensure assets are physically removed from site and properly documented.
• Remove assets from the asset register, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Complete all disposal activities in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the service provider include:

• Experience in asset disposal, particularly of technical and electronic equipment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with SABC staff and asset management teams.
• Competence in data management, formatting, and asset register updates.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and environmental disposal standards.
• Capacity to handle large asset lots and provide comprehensive, competitive proposals.
