Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified Service Provider to deliver high-quality gardening and landscaping services at Umjantshi House for a period of 36 months. The contractor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and general condition of the gardens, lawns, trees, flower beds, and surrounding areas, ensuring a professional and aesthetically pleasing environment that aligns with occupational health and safety standards.

Specific aims include:

• Securing timely, consistent, and cost-effective gardening services.
• Maintaining the safety and flow of employees and visitors within the premises.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and safety standards.
• Enhancing the overall appearance and upkeep of Umjantshi House's external and internal garden areas.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses comprehensive gardening and landscaping services at Umjantshi House, located at 30 Wolmarans Street, Braamfontein. The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, equipment, and materials to perform the following:

• Maintenance of lawn areas, flower beds, trees, and terraces.
• Weeding, spraying, fertilizing, and general plant care.
• Tree felling, trimming, and pruning as required.
• Cleaning and waste disposal, including emptying waste receptacles and removing garden debris.
• Watering, irrigation repairs, and system maintenance.
• Procurement and planting of flowers and plants as directed.
• Use of appropriate horticultural and safety practices.

The service includes scheduled activities such as mowing, trimming, pruning, weed control, fertilizing, and debris removal, with specified frequency and standards.

Technical Requirements

The successful bidder must meet the following technical criteria:

• Experience and Track Record: Demonstrate at least five years of relevant gardening and landscaping experience, with verifiable references and at least three LOAs (Letters of Appointment) from previous clients.
• Staffing: Employ a team of at least three gardeners, supervised by qualified personnel with relevant horticultural expertise.
• Equipment: Provide and maintain all necessary tools and machinery, including lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, sprayers, and safety gear, in good working condition.
• Health & Safety: Submit a comprehensive SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) plan covering incident reporting, PPE use, equipment safety, and emergency procedures.
• Plant and Material Procurement: Procure plants, flowers, fertilizers, and chemicals as needed, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Remuneration and Compliance: Adhere to government-mandated remuneration rates, ensure tax compliance, and provide proof of registration and compliance documentation.
• Environmental Management: Implement environmentally responsible practices, including chemical application and waste disposal.

All bidders must demonstrate their capability to deliver services that meet the specified quality standards, safety requirements, and environmental considerations as outlined in the tender documentation.
