Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a competent service provider to manage the full production cycle of the 2025/26 MICT SETA Annual Report. This includes conceptualisation, content integration, editing, layout, design, printing, and delivery of both physical and digital formats. Additionally, the service provider will develop a condensed A5 summary booklet, a PowerPoint presentation highlighting key report features, and an online interactive flipbook version.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Conceptualisation, design, and layout of the Annual Report, ensuring alignment with MICT SETA’s branding and thematic focus on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
• Content integration, editing, and proofreading, including three rounds of professional review.
• Lithographic printing of 400 copies, with specific allocations for DHET, AGSA, National Treasury, and Department of Planning.
• Development of an online flipbook with specifications such as responsive design, search functionality, interactive elements, and embedding capabilities.
• Design and production of a 4-page full-colour cover, approximately 40 inner pages, saddle-stitched, with specified paper weights and finishes.
• Delivery of physical copies and digital versions, including low-res formats for online use.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Design adherence to the approved theme reflecting 4IR concepts, with visual imagery, terminology, and industry context relevant to MICT SETA sectors.
• Consistent margins, typography, and grid alignment throughout the report.
• Development of an interactive online flipbook with features such as zoom, search, page jump, responsiveness across devices, and removal of third-party branding.
• Print specifications: 4 cover pages (250gsm gloss UV varnish), approximately 40 inner pages (148gsm matte art), saddle-stitched binding.
• Delivery schedule with drafts ready by 21 August 2026 and final report by 25 August 2026.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

• Experience in corporate communications, PR, marketing, or related consulting, with a proven track record in producing Annual Reports or similar corporate publications for public or private entities.
• A Key Accounts/Project Manager with a post-matric qualification and 3-5 years' experience managing end-to-end report production projects.
• Design expertise in layout and branding of corporate publications, with a CV demonstrating relevant experience.
• Copy editing and proofreading skills, supported by CVs of qualified editors.
• Technical proficiency in developing interactive digital publications, including flipbooks, with experience in responsive design, interactive features, and embedding capabilities.
• Capacity to manage stakeholder reviews, revisions, and approvals efficiently within tight deadlines.
