Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint qualified service providers to deliver transfer and shuttle services to the National Department of Tourism over a period of three (3) years.

Scope

The scope includes providing shuttle services across the country, with a focus on Gauteng Province. The service provider must ensure vehicles are in good condition, staffed with qualified drivers, and capable of responding to the Department's requirements on demand. Responsibilities also encompass vehicle maintenance, driver training, reporting, and ensuring passenger safety.

• Provision of shuttle services as and when required, including peak and off-peak times.
• Majority of services in Gauteng Province.
• Appointing qualified drivers and administrative staff.
• Vehicle maintenance, safety, and cleanliness.
• Providing 24-hour call centre support.
• Submitting weekly and monthly operational reports.

Technical Requirements

• Vehicles must be mechanically sound, well-maintained, and in safe operating condition at all times.
• Vehicles should be neat, clean, and compliant with relevant traffic legislation.
• Drivers must hold necessary valid documentation, adhere to traffic regulations, and prioritize passenger safety.
• Provision of comprehensive motor, passenger, and third-party liability insurance.
• Appointing a key accounts manager responsible for operations.
• Availability of a 24-hour call centre and administrative support for bookings.
• Regular reporting, including weekly invoices, log sheets, and operational summaries.
• Implementation of safety measures, GPS tracking, and route knowledge.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Experience in providing shuttle and transfer services in both public and private sectors.
• Proven track record with references from previous clients for similar projects.
• Qualified drivers with valid licenses and adherence to traffic laws.
• Vehicle fleet with valid registration, insurance, and roadworthy certificates.
• Operational staff capable of managing bookings, customer service, and reporting.
• Knowledge of route planning, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Ability to provide detailed operational methodology, including booking procedures, maintenance schedules, and contingency plans.
• Financial capacity to sustain operations over the contract period, including detailed budget proposals.
