Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint service providers to supply items for the Amakhosi & Ondlunkulu Informal Business Support Programme over a period of 36 months. The initiative aims to support traditional leaders and their communities by providing essential tools of trade, fostering economic development, cultural preservation, governance, and community empowerment. The programme emphasizes resource mobilization to enhance leadership, promote rural development, and facilitate community-driven initiatives.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Appointment of a panel of service providers to supply various items as and when required across multiple districts within KwaZulu-Natal.
• Provision of specific items such as mobile chilling units, tents, chairs, pots, gas stoves, chafing dishes, cutlery, plates, branded gazebos, camp chairs, and mobile cooler boxes.
• Delivery of these items to designated destinations in line with the department’s requirements over a contract period of three years.
• Support of traditional authorities through resource mobilization tools to improve governance, cultural activities, ceremonies, and community development projects.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the items include:

• Mobile Chilling Units: Frame made of 38mm x 38mm square steel tubing, galvanized, PVC covers, with mobility features, warranty of 3 years.
• Storage Units: Steel frame with galvanization, PVC covers, warranty of 1 year.
• Pots: 50 liters, heavy-duty, with a 1-year warranty.
• Gas Stove: 3-ring burner, with a 1-year warranty.
• Chafing Dishes: Round roll chafing dishes, with accessories included, warranty of 1 year.
• Cutlery: 150-piece set (spoons, forks, knives), porcelain plates, white round plates, with warranty of 1 year.
• Branded Gazebo, Camp Chairs, and Mobile Cooler Box: Branded with Cogta branding, durable materials, and warranties as specified.

All items must be roadworthy, possess registration numbers, and meet the specified quality and durability standards.

Skills Requirements

Proposed service providers should demonstrate:

• Experience in supply and delivery of similar goods, supported by reference letters or orders not older than 24 months for amounts above R500,000.00.
• Capacity to deliver quality goods within specified timeframes and across multiple districts.
• Compliance with technical specifications and standards outlined in the tender documentation.
• Ability to provide after-sales support, warranties, and necessary documentation such as blueprints and specifications for spare parts.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, tax compliance, and registration on the Central Suppliers Database.
• Capacity to meet the logistical and operational demands of delivering items across diverse locations in KwaZulu-Natal.
