Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to reinstate the Cathodic Protection System at Grand Central Rd, ensuring the protection of infrastructure against corrosion and related damages. The project aims to comply with safety, environmental, and legislative standards while delivering a reliable and effective cathodic protection solution.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Reinstatement of the Cathodic Protection System at the specified site.
• Participation in a compulsory site briefing session to discuss detailed work requirements.
• Adherence to Johannesburg Water’s safety, health, and environmental standards throughout the project.
• Provision of all necessary materials, equipment, and personnel to complete the work.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Compliance with the Cathodic Protection System Reinstatement Specification.
• Preparation and submission of a SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) plan, risk assessment, and safe working procedures.
• Proper installation and securement of equipment, including ladders and scaffolding, following safety standards.
• Electrical contractor registration and adherence to electrical safety regulations.
• Implementation of welding, flame cutting, and soldering operations with appropriate safety measures.
• Control of hazardous chemical agents and working in confined spaces with proper testing and safety protocols.
• Provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety signage.
• Proper housekeeping, incident reporting, and safety documentation.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires the following skills and competencies:

• Qualified electrical contractors registered with the relevant authorities.
• Experienced personnel in cathodic protection systems installation and reinstatement.
• Competent safety officers and supervisors with SHE certification and relevant experience.
