Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider responsible for rendering hygiene and cleaning services at the Department of Public Works, Ilembe district office, located at 1 Saunders Street, KwaDukuza Central, KwaDukuza.

Scope

The scope includes comprehensive hygiene and cleaning services, which encompass:

• Provision of cleaning supplies such as toilet paper, detergents, air fresheners, and soap refills.
• Servicing sanitary bins in toilets.
• Provision of cleaning personnel (6 staff: 5 women and 1 man) for 8 months.
• Supply of cleaning equipment (e.g., mops, wet floor signs, vacuum cleaners, dusters).
• Quarterly deep cleaning of toilets, urinals, and sinks.
• Provision of uniforms and safety shoes for staff.
• Deep cleansing services on a quarterly basis.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Provision of all consumables and cleaning agents, ensuring they are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
• Servicing of sanitary bins weekly with supplied receptacles containing antiseptic and deodorizing agents.
• Provision of trained cleaning staff with appropriate uniforms and safety footwear.
• Supply and maintenance of cleaning equipment, including safe extension cords.
• Quarterly deep cleaning using own consumables and equipment.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, including the use of biodegradable products.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required include:

• Experience in providing hygiene and cleaning services in a government or similar institutional environment.
• Ability to supply and operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Provision of trained personnel capable of performing cleaning and deep cleaning tasks.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of safety gear.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver services within specified timelines and quality standards.
