Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to:

• Design, supply, deliver, install, and commission submersible pump panels at Lavumisa Pump Station and Ntshingwayo Dam.
• Carry out repairs to the abstractor fans/ventilation system at Lavumisa Pump Station.
• Ensure the proper functioning of submersible pumps and ventilation systems to support water abstraction and management operations.

Scope

The scope covers the following key areas:

Lavumisa Pump Station

• Design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a submersible pump panel controlling two 3-phase submersible pumps (5.6 kW each).
• Repairs to the abstractor fans/ventilation system, including supply of a fully operational Direct Online Panel (DOL).
• Provision of protection, control equipment, phase failure/reversal relay, earth leakage protection, emergency stop, level sensors, alarms, and indication lights.

Ntshingwayo Dam

• Design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a submersible pump panel controlling one single-phase pump (0.75 kW).
• Provision of protection, level control, alarms, and control equipment similar to Lavumisa Pump Station.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Panels must control the specified number of pumps with protection against phase failure, overload, and earth leakage.
• Inclusion of phase failure/reversal relays, emergency stop buttons, float switches with alarms, and level sensors (LL, HL, HH).
• Motors must be rated for heavy-duty, continuous operation with appropriate insulation and starting capabilities.
• Abstractor fans/ventilation system to be controlled via fully operational DOL panels, including ducting, louvers, and sand alternators.
• All work must comply with relevant legislation, safety standards, and best workshop practices.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• Proven experience and demonstrated skills of key personnel, including project managers and site agents, with relevant qualifications and experience.
• Capability to develop detailed construction programmes and methodologies, including Gantt charts.
• Ability to provide detailed technical designs, drawings, and site inspection certificates.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including submission of safety plans and appointment of qualified safety personnel.
• Proficiency in electrical and mechanical installation, commissioning, and testing of pump control panels and ventilation systems.
• Experience in working with water infrastructure projects, particularly involving submersible pumps and control systems.
