Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitable service provider for the supply and delivery of packaged hygiene/dignity packs aimed at supporting outreach programs, specifically targeting displaced persons and homeless individuals. The initiative seeks to improve personal hygiene among vulnerable populations, address stigma, and enhance opportunities for registration in skills development and employability.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, packaging, and delivery of hygiene packs to designated locations, notably the 3 Kotze Street Shelter. The work is a once-off procurement, involving the supply of specific hygiene items such as facecloths, toothbrushes, shampoo, toothpaste, sanitary pads, Vaseline, soap, razors, hair clippers, and nail cutters. The successful bidder must supply, package, deliver, and offload these hygiene packs at the specified site.

Technical Requirements

• Supply packaged hygiene/dignity packs containing specified items as per the detailed list.
• Items must meet specified sizes and standards (e.g., facecloths 30cm x 30cm, standard toothbrushes, 30ml shampoo sachets, etc.).
• Deliver the hygiene packs to the designated shelter at 3 Kotze Street.
• Ensure all items are packaged appropriately for distribution to homeless persons and displaced individuals.
• Adhere to health and safety standards, including providing health certificates for catering suppliers and accreditation for training providers if applicable.
• Complete all required documentation, including signed forms, declarations, and certificates, to qualify for evaluation.

Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in procurement and supply chain management, including compliance with municipal policies and regulations.
• Ability to accurately package and deliver hygiene products according to specified standards.
• Experience in handling health and safety compliance, including obtaining necessary health certificates and accreditation.
• Competence in completing and submitting all necessary documentation, forms, and declarations accurately and on time.
• Knowledge of municipal and government procurement processes, including registration on supplier databases and familiarity with VAT registration and compliance.
• Capacity to coordinate logistics efficiently to ensure timely delivery and offloading at the specified site.
