Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure hydraulic repairs for the A02, A03, and K71 hydraulic power packs at Transnet Port Terminal in Richards Bay. The repairs aim to restore operational efficiency, ensure safety compliance, and maximize equipment availability through scheduled shutdowns and refurbishment activities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Hydraulic repairs on the specified power packs (A02, A03, and K71).
• Inspection, servicing, replacement, and supply of spare parts and consumables.
• Disassembly and reassembly of hydraulic power pack components to ensure quality workmanship.
• Provision of methodology statements detailing repair procedures and timelines for each task during the shutdown periods.
• Adherence to specified quality control standards and OEM requirements.

Additional scope details specify that deviations from the scope require prior approval from Transnet’s Engineering Manager, and further site visits may be arranged for clarification.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with Transnet and OEM specifications, including quality control standards EEAM-Q-009 and EEAM-Q-020.
• Full inspection of equipment before work, with immediate reporting of any defects affecting the work.
• Disassembly, repair, replacement, and reassembly of hydraulic components such as pressure switches and accumulators, with specific pressure charge requirements (e.g., 90 bars).
• Provision of a detailed methodology for repair activities, including timelines for each task within the three-day shutdown window.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including reflective vests, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Ensuring that no plant operation is interrupted or isolated without proper authority and permits.
• Site access governed by TNPA and TPT security requirements at the Port of Richards Bay.

Exclusions include hiring or provision of mobile cranes, rigging teams, and scaffolding.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in hydraulic power pack repairs, with demonstrated capability to perform inspections, servicing, and component replacements.
• Compliance with ISO 9001:2015 accreditation for hydraulic services.
• Technical competence to interpret OEM specifications and quality standards.
• Ability to prepare and submit detailed methodology statements and repair timelines.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, PPE requirements, and site access procedures.
• Capability to inspect, diagnose, and report defects promptly to facilitate efficient repairs.
• Qualified personnel with relevant technical training and experience in hydraulic systems repair and maintenance.
