Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a contract for the repair and servicing of hydraulic track maintenance tools on an “as and when” required basis over a period of 2 years. The aim is to ensure the tools are maintained in operational condition, meet safety standards, and are available for use as needed by Transnet Rail Infrastructure.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Repair and servicing of various hydraulic tools and equipment, including track jacks, tie tampers, rail saws, drills, angle grinders, impact wrenches, crossing grinders, profile grinders, power units, and shear machines.
• Fault reporting, inspection, testing, and certification of repaired tools.
• Implementation of quality control measures, including testing in accordance with manufacturer and HTMA standards.
• Provision of warranty/guarantee periods post-repair and adherence to delivery schedules.
• Compliance with legal, safety, and operational requirements, including security clearance and environmental standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• Tools must be inspected, repaired, and tested to meet manufacturer specifications and HTMA standards.
• Tools should be tested for leaks, wear, and safety, with certification provided after repairs.
• Repairs must include replacement of OEM parts, calibration, and painting as needed.
• Repair times should be within specified limits, with repair reports submitted monthly.
• Tools must be protected against corrosion, properly packed, and delivered in a ready-for-service condition.
• Respondents must demonstrate technical competence, capacity, and experience with the specific tools listed.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tender requires respondents to possess:

• Technical expertise in servicing and repairing hydraulic equipment such as power packs, rail cutters, impact wrenches, grinders, drills, and shear machines.
• Qualified personnel with experience in hydraulic systems, testing, and certification procedures.
• Facilities equipped with hydraulic test equipment, calibration centers, and appropriate workshop infrastructure.
• Proven capacity to deliver timely repairs, maintain quality standards, and provide warranty support.
• Ability to produce detailed fault reports, repair documentation, and certification certificates.
• Knowledge of safety, legal, and operational standards relevant to hydraulic tools used in railway maintenance.
