Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage qualified firms to provide gas line pressure testing services, ensuring leak detection and defect identification on specified gas pipelines in compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Conducting pressure tests for leaks and defects on designated gas lines at Cydna Laboratory.
• Ensuring full compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for pressurized systems.
• Performing a one-off pressure testing service, with consideration for line pressure testing as needed.

The work involves testing in accordance with Regulation 17(3) of the Pressure Equipment Regulations, 2009, including inspection, testing, and certification processes.

Technical Requirements

• Hold a valid CIDB Grade 1 Mechanical Engineering Works classification (pipelines, gas transmission, and distribution systems).
• Be registered with the Southern African Gas Association (SAGA).
• Provide at least one reference letter confirming experience in similar gas line inspection or pressure testing projects.
• Ensure all testing and inspection activities are performed by qualified and competent personnel.
• Compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards, including submission of necessary safety documentation.
• Use approved inspection authorities for witnessing pressure tests where applicable.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified mechanical engineers with experience in gas pipeline pressure testing.
• Certified safety officers familiar with pressure equipment regulations and safety standards.
• Competent personnel capable of conducting risk assessments, preparing method statements, and executing pressure tests.
• Proficiency in interpreting regulatory standards and documentation related to pressurized systems.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
