Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a qualified service provider to perform comprehensive servicing and maintenance of generators at Cedara Campus. The service aims to ensure that all generators operate efficiently and reliably, especially during power outages, to support critical functions such as emergency cooling in quarantine glasshouses. The provider must also assess and recommend necessary repairs to maintain optimal power generation and ensure continuous electricity supply for heating, cooling, and other essential operations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Testing and checking alternators.
• Testing auto voltage regulators.
• Inspecting generator software and controllers, if present.
• Assessing the integrity of generators, including housing security and mounting stability.
• Checking exhaust flow and blockage.
• Inspecting and pressure testing radiators, and verifying oil, water, filters, and electrical wiring conditions.
• Measuring voltage under load.
• Checking condensate drains for blockage and cleaning as needed.
• Inspecting blower belts for condition, tension, and alignment.
• Lubricating bearings where applicable.
• Cleaning blowers and inspecting safety controls, contactor points, thermostats, and lockout controls.
• Replacing all necessary air, oil, and water filters.
• Providing recommendations for repairs to ensure continuous and efficient power supply, especially for critical infrastructure like quarantine glasshouses.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of qualified technicians for all work.
• Adherence to the Standard Specification for Electrical Installation.
• Site inspection prior to tender submission.
• Compliance with electrical safety standards and ARC’s supply chain management policies.
• Proper documentation of repairs, warranties, and service reports.
• Rapid response capability for emergency repairs, particularly for quarantine glasshouses reliant on generator power for cooling.

Skills Requirements
