Objectives

The tender aims to hire 50-ton to 550-ton mobile cranes on an "as and when" required basis within the Gauteng Distribution Cluster for a period of 3 years. The service includes crane operations primarily for transformer rigging, powerline tower erection, and related activities, ensuring availability during normal hours, after hours, weekends, and public holidays.

Scope

The scope involves providing mobile cranes ranging from 50 to 550 tons, including rigging, site establishment, transportation, and operational support. The service covers crane deployment at Eskom sites for transformer replacements, tower erections, and other maintenance activities, with the service to be delivered based on dispatched work orders during specified periods.

• Crane types: 50, 55, 75, 150, 220, 440, and 550 tons.
• Operations include transformer rigging, tower erection, and site assessments.
• Service is on an "as and when" basis, with flat hourly rates.
• Crane operators and riggers must be trained and certified.
• Crane deployment includes site mobilization, transportation, and operational support.

Technical Requirements

The technical scope mandates:

• Provision of cranes with proof of ownership or hire agreements.
• Valid annual load test certificates for cranes (50-550 tons).
• Certified crane operator training certificates.
• Crane specifications, photos, and proof of compliance submitted for evaluation.
• Crane transportation and site establishment in accordance with Eskom standards.
• Adherence to safety, health, environment, and quality standards, including SHE requirements evaluation.
• Crane operators and riggers must have proof of training and certification.
• Compliance with Eskom's safety, SHE, and environmental policies.

Skills and Skills Requirements
