Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is for King Hintsa Tvet College to appoint a qualified service provider responsible for the supply and delivery of various farming inputs. These inputs include animal feeds, vaccines, fertilizers, medications, seeds, seedlings, and other agricultural products, to support the college's farming activities over a period of 36 months.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the procurement and timely delivery of:

• Animal feeds for pigs, poultry, cattle, and sheep, including specific types such as pig grower, weaner, lactating sow feed, poultry mash, broiler starter, finisher, and post finisher feeds, as well as livestock supplements.
• Vaccines and medications for poultry and livestock, including vaccines for Gumboro, Newcastle, and other health products.
• Seeds and seedlings for various vegetables and flowers, including cabbage, spinach, beetroot, green pepper, tomato, broccoli, and flower seeds.
• Fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides necessary for crop production and pest control.
• Hydroponic growing mediums, trays, and related supplies for hydroponic systems.

The delivery will be scheduled over 36 months, with specific quantities and cycles as detailed in the specifications, including multiple cycles per year for certain products.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of high-quality animal feeds, vaccines, and medications as per specified formulations and quantities.
• Delivery of seeds, seedlings, and hydroponic supplies in accordance with the specified schedules and quantities.
• Supplying fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides that meet safety and efficacy standards.
• Adherence to the specified cycle durations, with particular attention to the growth periods of day-old chicks (42 days per cycle) and the total number of cycles (6 per year).
• Proper storage, handling, and transportation of all products to maintain quality and safety standards.

Skills and Experience Requirements

The successful service provider should possess:

• Proven experience in supplying agricultural inputs, including animal feeds, vaccines, fertilizers, and seeds, preferably within similar institutional or large-scale farming contexts.
• Knowledge of quality standards and safety regulations related to agricultural and veterinary products.
• Capacity for timely procurement, logistics, and delivery to meet the specified schedules over the 36-month period.
• Technical expertise in handling and storage of sensitive products such as vaccines and medications.
• Strong supplier management and coordination skills to ensure consistent supply and quality assurance.
