Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure research consumables, specifically sterile 1.4 ml Micro U-tubes with round bottoms, to support the research activities at the Agricultural Research Council's Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute (ARC-OVI).

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of the following items:

• 200 units of sterile 1.4 ml Micro U-tubes with round bottoms, racked in 96-well racks
• 20 bags of 1000 units each of sterile 1.4 ml Micro U-tubes with round bottoms

The specifications for the U-tubes are:

• Working volume: 1.4 ml
• Temperature range: -25°C to 25°C
• Compatibility with 8 strip push caps
• Compatible with Comorack-96 (can hold 96 tubes, 8×12 arrangement)
• Material: Polycarbonate

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the U-tubes are as follows:

• Working volume of 1.4 ml
• Operational temperature range from -25°C to 25°C
• Compatibility with 8 strip push caps
• Designed to fit into Comorack-96 racks, made from durable Polycarbonate

Administrative Requirements

• Bidder registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) with full report and registration number must be included.
• Claiming of specific goals (ownership by HDIs, women, youth, PwD, BEE status, RDP goals) will be scored, with points allocated accordingly.
• Submission of completed and signed Standard Bidding Documents (SBD) forms.
• Quotations must be sent via email to [email protected].
• Delivery of goods to the specified ARC-OVI address upon receipt of a purchase order.
• Guarantee details, including warranty period and extent, must be clearly stated.
• Prices should be inclusive of VAT, delivery, insurance, and taxes, quoted in South African Rand.
• Quotations must be valid for an indicated period and submitted on official letterhead with signature.
• The ARC reserves the right to conduct due diligence and benchmark prices.

Skills and Technical Competence

• Proven experience in supplying laboratory consumables, particularly U-tubes or similar products.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards specified.
• Capability to provide relevant documentation of experience and warranty support.
• Compliance with procurement policies and standards, including BEE and RDP goals.
