Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to establish a panel for the repair and maintenance of technical equipment across Joburg City Theatres, ensuring all equipment is inspected, serviced, repaired, and restored to a safe, compliant, and operational condition. The overarching goal is to support scheduled productions, uphold high standards of quality, and maintain the theatres' infrastructure in line with OEM specifications, industry standards, and contractual requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses the inspection, servicing, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of technical equipment across multiple venues including Joburg Theatre, Soweto Theatre, and Rooderport Theatre. Specific equipment categories include:

• Lighting Equipment (e.g., consoles, fixtures, smoke machines)
• Audio Visual Equipment (e.g., projectors, LED screens, processors)
• Sound Equipment (e.g., microphones, speakers, amplifiers)
• Laundry Service Equipment (e.g., washing machines, steam irons)
• Masking Cloths and Scenery (e.g., velour legs, projection screens)
• Power & Hardware (e.g., motors, controllers, cabling)

All parts used for repairs must be new, covered by manufacturer warranties, and installed in compliance with electrical and safety standards. Maintenance must be completed within agreed timelines.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of qualified technicians with relevant accreditation and minimum 5 years’ experience per equipment category.
• Demonstration of company experience through references, appointment letters, or purchase orders for similar projects within the last 5 years.
• Compliance with OEM specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations for all repairs and installations.
• Use of new parts covered by warranties for all repairs.
• Installation of parts must meet electrical and safety standards.
• Regular inspections, servicing, and repairs as per scheduled timelines.
• Effective communication and account management, including regular reviews and performance monitoring.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in lighting, audio visual, sound, laundry, scenery, power, and hardware equipment.
• Qualified technicians with relevant certifications and at least 5 years’ experience in their respective categories.
• Proven track record of at least five (5) similar projects in the last 5 years, supported by appointment letters or reference letters.
• Ability to provide comprehensive technical support, including diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and installation.
• Capacity to supply new, warranty-covered parts and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Effective communication skills, including dedicated account representatives and regular review meetings.
