Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure branded promotional items to support Rea Vaya activation campaigns and customer education initiatives. The goal is to increase public awareness, encourage correct usage of the transit system, enhance customer experience, and grow ridership through structured campaigns.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of various branded promotional items such as lanyards, PVC cards, stationery, water bottles, hats, bags, pens, credit card holders, recycled aluminium bottles, pill boxes, drawstring bags, and other branded merchandise. These items will be used in activation and customer education campaigns for Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services.

Samples will be requested from shortlisted suppliers, and all items must meet the specified quantities and branding options as detailed in the specifications.

Technical Requirements

• All promotional items must be branded with the Rea Vaya logo and/or City of Johannesburg branding as specified.
• Items must be made from specified materials (e.g., polyester, PVC, plastic, aluminium, cotton, etc.) and conform to quality standards.
• Items should be durable, safe, and suitable for public use.
• All items must be compliant with relevant standards, such as SABS specifications for clothing and local content requirements.
• Pricing must be inclusive of delivery charges and delivery to specified addresses.
• Suppliers must sign all required forms and annexures, including local content declarations and certificates.
• Samples may be requested from shortlisted suppliers for quality and branding verification.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying branded promotional items, preferably for large-scale campaigns or government projects.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards outlined in the tender documentation.
• Knowledge of local content and BBBEE compliance, with the ability to provide relevant certificates and declarations.
• Capacity to deliver within specified timeframes and quantities.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and other legal requirements.
• Capability to complete and submit all required documentation, including declarations, certificates, and signed forms.
• Experience in handling procurement processes in accordance with municipal policies and regulations.
