Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to provide comprehensive executive coaching services to managers within the Western Cape Education Department over a period of three years. The services include the use of assessment tools, individual and group coaching sessions, personality assessments for team building interventions, and a coaching skills development program for managers. The aim is to enhance leadership capabilities, foster team cohesion, and build coaching capacity among managers and educational leaders in the Western Cape region.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the following key components:

• Individual Executive Coaching: Tailored coaching sessions for senior managers, middle managers, and school principals, including assessment tools and personality assessments.
• Group/Team Coaching: Facilitated workshops and coaching sessions for middle managers, principals, deputy principals, and departmental heads to promote team development and collaboration.
• Personality Assessments: Use of assessment tools for team building interventions across various managerial levels.
• Coaching Skills Programmes: Training programs aimed at developing coaching skills among managers to sustain a coaching culture within the department.

The services are to be delivered both in-person and virtually, with specified maximum participants per session or workshop, across the Western Cape region, over a three-year period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of assessment tools, including their use and interpretation, for each year of the contract.
• Delivery of individual coaching sessions (8 per annum per participant) for specified managerial levels, with options for in-person and virtual formats.
• Facilitation of group/team coaching workshops (2 per annum), tailored for middle managers, principals, deputy principals, and departmental heads.
• Conducting personality assessments for team building, with two full-day workshops per annum for each group.
• Implementation of a coaching skills development programme for managers, comprising up to five workshops annually, each lasting two full days.
• All services must adhere to quality standards, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.

Skills Requirements

The successful tenderer must demonstrate:

• Expertise in executive coaching, leadership development, and team building within the education sector or similar environments.
• Proficiency in administering and interpreting personality and assessment tools relevant to leadership and team development.
• Experience in designing and delivering training programmes, particularly coaching skills for managers.
• Ability to facilitate both in-person and virtual coaching sessions and workshops effectively.
• Strong understanding of the Western Cape Education Department's context and regional needs.
• Capacity to manage multiple concurrent sessions and workshops across different locations within the three-year timeframe.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to engage senior and middle management effectively.
