Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider for the treatment of E. coli at Mapungubwe Dam within Mapungubwe National Park. The goal is to effectively treat water contaminated with E. coli, algae, and cyanobacteria in a water pond of approximately 30,000 m³ to ensure water quality and safety.

The scope of work involves providing E. coli treatment services for the water pond/dam located next to the main gate at Mapungubwe National Park. Specifically, the work includes:

• Treatment of E. coli, algae, and cyanobacteria in a water pond of around 30,000 m³.
• Provision of treatment chemicals or methods as specified in the pricing schedule.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the tender include:

• Treatment of water contaminated with E. coli, algae, and cyanobacteria in a pond approximately 30,000 m³ in size.
• Use of approved treatment methods and chemicals that meet environmental and safety standards.
• Provision of a detailed pricing schedule for the treatment services.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Applicator certification or an equivalent environmental pesticide management license.
• Registration with the Department of Labor under COIDA (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, No 130 of 1993).
• Proof of good standing and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Experience in water treatment, particularly in treating E. coli, algae, and cyanobacteria in large water bodies.
• Capability to provide the required treatment chemicals or methods effectively and safely.
