Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to:

• Provide the FSCA with backup software licenses, management, and support services for a period of three (3) years.
• Ensure the renewal of existing Commvault backup licenses (58TB capacity) and supply an additional 30TB capacity during the contract period.
• Deliver end-to-end backup and data archiving management, including system upgrades, support, and performance monitoring.
• Establish a structured framework for evaluating proposals and selecting a qualified service provider.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Renewal of current 58TB Commvault backup licenses and supply of an additional 30TB licenses for three years.
• Provision of backup management and support services, including:
• Management of backup lifecycle and data archiving using Commvault solutions.
• System upgrades, configuration, testing, and documentation updates.
• Proactive health checks, capacity management, and support call facilitation.
• Participation in disaster recovery and cybersecurity exercises.
• Provision of backup services at two physical locations: the primary site in Pretoria and the disaster recovery site in Midrand.
• Delivery of services during and outside normal working hours, with agreed timelines and performance SLAs.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Renewal of existing Commvault licenses and supply of an additional 30TB capacity.
• Management of backup and archiving processes, including system upgrades, patch management, and performance monitoring.
• Provision of daily health checks, support call management, and incident resolution within specified response times.
• Provision of updated system documentation and configuration signoff.
• Participation in disaster recovery and cybersecurity simulation programs.
• Provision of a service delivery plan and 60 hours per year for onsite/offsite enhancements and customization.
• Support at both primary and disaster recovery sites with specified physical addresses and GPS coordinates.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Active accreditation as a Commvault partner operating in South Africa, with verifiable OEM accreditation.
• Experience in managing Commvault backup and archiving solutions, with a minimum of five (5) years in technical support roles.
• Provision of qualified technical support personnel with relevant CVs and contactable references from previous clients.
• Capability to perform system upgrades, configuration, testing, and documentation updates.
• Ability to meet specified incident response and resolution times based on incident priority levels.
• Capacity to deliver end-to-end backup lifecycle management, data archiving, and disaster recovery support.
• Proven track record in delivering similar backup management services within the South African context.
