Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to deliver comprehensive deep cleaning services for the Northern Works at Johannesburg Water. The scope includes cleaning basins, showers, toilets, urinals, bathroom walls, floors, and preparing safety and cleaning reports, ensuring hygiene, safety, and compliance with relevant standards throughout the contract duration.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Deep cleaning of bathroom basins, showers, toilets, urinals, walls, and floors at Northern Works.
• Provision of safety files and cleaning reports.
• Use of environmentally friendly chemicals and compliant electrical equipment.
• Maintaining safety, hygiene, and operational standards on-site.
• Ensuring proper conduct, safety signage, PPE usage, and staff conduct during cleaning activities.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety legislation and environmental regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of all necessary machinery, equipment, and environmentally friendly cleaning chemicals.
• Use of equipment compliant with South African Bureau of Standards (SABS).
• Preparation of detailed safety files, risk assessments, and safe working procedures.
• Implementation of hazard control measures, including PPE, signage, and safe chemical handling.
• Conducting medical screening and vaccinations for employees as required.
• Regular toolbox talks, incident reporting, and safety inspections.
• Proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and biological agents.
• Maintaining qualified personnel with relevant certifications and training.

Skills Requirements

The tender specifies that the service provider must demonstrate:

• Competency and qualifications of supervisory and operational staff, including safety officers and construction supervisors.
• Experience in deep cleaning, hazardous chemical handling, and compliance with SHE standards.
