Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a maintenance contract for electrical, air conditioning, generator, and UPS systems within the Gauteng Cluster, to ensure continuous operation, safety compliance, and environmental standards over a period of 5 years, on an as-and-when-required basis.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of maintenance services for electrical, air conditioning, UPS, and diesel generators at Eskom properties within the Gauteng Cluster.
• Development of "as-built" electrical wiring drawings and compliance certification.
• Execution of planned, unplanned, and emergency maintenance activities.
• Supply of all consumables and materials required for maintenance.
• Compliance with engineering standards, safety, and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintenance of distribution boards, switchgear, and associated equipment.
• Inspection and testing of electrical and air conditioning systems, including thermographic inspections and calibration of equipment.
• Supply and servicing of diesel tanks, generators, and UPS systems.
• Implementation of safety, health, environmental, and quality management requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical evaluation emphasizes:

• Compliance with relevant standards such as SANS 10142 and ISO 9001.
• Qualified personnel with appropriate certifications (e.g., ECSA registration for electrical engineers, SACPCMP for safety officers).
• Provision of detailed method statements and work plans.
• Experience in similar maintenance projects with references.
• Availability of necessary equipment and tools for maintenance activities.
• Implementation of safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
• Adherence to Eskom SHEQ policies and legislative requirements.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified technical staff including electricians, HVAC technicians, generator specialists, and safety officers.
• Experience in electrical, air conditioning, and generator maintenance, with proven track record and references.
• Competence in risk assessments, safety management, and emergency procedures.
• Ability to develop and implement maintenance plans, method statements, and safety protocols.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, and Eskom SHEQ policies.
• Provision of training and supervision for personnel involved in the maintenance activities.
