Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to facilitate the removal and disposal of existing roller shutter doors and to supply and install new electronically operated roller shutter doors at various locations within Armscor Dockyard, Simon’s Town. The project aims to ensure improved security, functionality, and compliance with electrical safety standards through the provision of high-quality, compliant roller shutter doors with necessary accessories such as wicket gates, remote controls, and safety features.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Removal and disposal of 12 existing roller shutter doors at specified locations.
• Supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of 12 new industrial roller shutter doors with wicket gates.
• Each door must meet specified technical and safety standards, including electrical compliance and automatic stopping features.
• Site visits for accurate measurement and quotation, with a mandatory site inspection scheduled before installation.
• Provision of certificates of compliance for electrical installations.
• Locations include Mechanical Fitters Workshop, Machine Shop, Hydraulic Workshop, Crane Shop, Docking Parties, SAFS Workshop, Generating Station, and Riggers Workshop.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the roller shutter doors are as follows:

• Door Type: Industrial Shutter Door with White Coated Solid Slats, minimum thickness 1.2mm.
• Operation: Electrically operated with manual override chain.
• Motor: Single-phase tubular motor.
• Automatic Stop: Doors must automatically stop when reaching maximum open or close positions.
• Wicket Gate: Each door to include an 800x1800mm wicket gate.
• Dimensions: Vary per location, e.g., heights from 4180mm to 5425mm, widths from 3640mm to 4937mm.
• Accessories: Remote controls, up/down switches, canopy, T-bar with rubber seal, guide rails.
• Compliance: Certificates of compliance for electrical work as per Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in the supply, installation, and commissioning of industrial roller shutter doors, with at least one relevant project completed within the last 10 years.
• Ability to attend site inspections and provide accurate quotations based on site measurements.
• Technical expertise in electrical installations, including compliance with safety standards and certification.
• Capability to dispose of old doors responsibly and in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of B-BBEE requirements and the ability to provide relevant certification and documentation.
• Provision of technical brochures, client references, and installation certificates as proof of experience and compliance.
