Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit qualified contractors to perform repair works on a 200mm collector sewer line at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. The project aims to restore and maintain the sewer infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards, while promoting local enterprise participation and BBBEE compliance.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repair of a damaged 200mm collector sewer line at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
• Over-pumping and conforming to existing invert levels of manholes.
• Use of quick-setting cement of high strength.
• Monitoring and compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
• Attendance to a compulsory site briefing session scheduled at the project site.
• Submission of all required documentation, including lease agreements, BBBEE certificates, and compliance forms.

The work involves excavation, handling of hazardous materials, confined space entry, and reinstatement activities, all performed in accordance with technical and safety specifications outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Conformance to specifications for sewer line repair, including:
• Proper alignment with existing invert levels.
• Use of quick-setting, high-strength cement.
• Over-pumping procedures.
• Compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) specifications, including:
• Baseline, issue-based, and continuous risk assessments.
• Development and submission of Safe Work Procedures and Method Statements for high-risk activities.
• Proper management of excavations, confined spaces, barricading, signage, and fall protection.
• Provision and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Implementation of emergency management and incident reporting protocols.
• Provision of welfare facilities, security, and traffic management plans.
• Documentation and compliance:
• Submission of SHE files, valid lease agreements, BBBEE certificates, and other statutory documents.
• Participation in compulsory site briefing and safety inductions.
• Adherence to environmental and safety legislation, including handling of hazardous materials and demolition procedures.
• Evaluation criteria based on price (80 points) and specific goals (20 points), including BBBEE status and local enterprise participation.
