Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified training service provider accredited with the International Fire Service Accreditation Committee (IFSAC) to deliver Fire Investigator and Fire Inspector training to City of Johannesburg employees. The training aims to enhance skills through both theoretical and practical methods, culminating in learners receiving IFSAC-certified certificates upon successful completion.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of Fire Inspector and Fire Investigator training using theory and practical techniques.
• Training to be conducted at the provider’s venue.
• All learning materials to be included in the quotation.
• Issuance of IFSAC certificates post-training.
• Compliance with NFPA standards: NFPA 1031 for Fire Inspector and NFPA 1033 for Fire Investigator.
• Provision of suitable training facilities, learning materials, and equipment.

Technical Requirements

The training provider must:

• Be accredited with IFSAC to certify learners with IFSAC certificates.
• Deliver training aligned with NFPA standards:
• Fire Inspector 1 as per NFPA 1031 chapter 4 or NFPA 1030 chapter 7.
• Fire Investigator as per NFPA 1033.
• Provide a safe training venue with appropriate facilities.
• Ensure attendance registers are maintained.
• Provide all necessary learning materials and equipment.
• Issue IFSAC certificates upon successful course completion.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Accreditation with IFSAC for fire inspector and investigator training.
• Experience in delivering fire safety and investigation training.
• Ability to provide practical and theoretical training methods.
• Provision of suitable training facilities and learning resources.
• Compliance with NFPA standards and occupational health and safety regulations.
