Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a service provider capable of delivering water conservation educational programmes within the green industries sector. The provider will develop and implement various awareness, training, and promotional activities aimed at promoting water-wise principles among nurseries, industry stakeholders, and the broader community. The goal is to enhance water conservation practices, increase public engagement, and strengthen the Water Wise brand through educational materials, events, and media campaigns over a period of at least 24 months.

Scope

The scope encompasses a comprehensive range of activities including:

• Development and printing of educational booklets and Z-folders tailored for nursery clients, in multiple languages (English, Sesotho, IsiZulu).
• Design and distribution of branded signage, banners, and signboards at trade shows and events.
• Organization and delivery of water conservation training sessions across various regions, including practical demonstrations and certification.
• Coordination of Water Wise garden design competitions and stakeholder engagement.
• Provision of media coverage, social media content, and video production on water conservation practices.
• Hosting expert presentations at industry events such as TGMA and SAGIC conferences.
• Implementation of awareness campaigns, including social media clips and surveys to measure impact.
• Ad-hoc activities aligned with water conservation messaging and industry needs.

Technical Requirements

• Affiliation with SAGIC and at least one member organization (e.g., SANA, ILASA) to ensure capacity for delivery.
• Development of educational materials (booklets, Z-folders, signboards) that are environmentally friendly, water-efficient in production, and suitable for target audiences.
• Materials must include the Water Wise logo, along with SANA and SAGIC logos, and be provided in editable digital formats (InDesign, etc.).
• Translation of key materials into IsiZulu and Sesotho, with production of copies for distribution within Rand Water’s supply area.
• Organization of practical training sessions with qualified trainers, including certification and supporting handouts.
• Design and implementation of Water Wise garden projects, including detailed concept designs, signage, and educational elements.
• Production of multimedia content such as videos (minimum 60 seconds), social media clips, and digital campaigns aligned with environmental days and industry events.
• Coordination of competitions, stakeholder meetings, and awards with clear criteria, judging, and prize distribution.
• Active promotion and marketing of all activities through SAGIC/SANA channels and social media platforms.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in water conservation education, environmental communication, or related fields.
• Capability to develop engaging educational content tailored for diverse audiences, including nursery staff, industry professionals, and the general public.
• Strong project management skills to coordinate multiple activities, events, and stakeholder engagements over a two-year period.
• Technical expertise in graphic design, print production, and multimedia content creation (videos, social media clips).
• Ability to translate materials into IsiZulu and Sesotho, ensuring cultural and regional relevance.
• Experience in organizing competitions, awards, and public awareness campaigns.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with industry associations, government bodies, and community groups.
• Capacity to monitor, evaluate, and report on the impact of educational initiatives and campaigns.
