Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider for the procurement of the 2025 Autodesk Revit 3D Design Software or an equivalent solution. The selected provider will deliver the latest version of the software along with associated licenses, which will become the property of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality (COJMM).

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Procurement of the 3D design software for Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• Provision of licenses and related intellectual property rights.
• Delivery and installation of the software.
• Support and maintenance services.
• Ensuring the software meets specified design features and technical requirements.

Technical Requirements

The software must include the following features:

• Advanced architectural design tools with freeform massing and profiling capabilities.
• Parametric geometry and project environment integration.
• Simulation engines for daylighting, energy analysis, heating, and cooling loads.
• Architectural modeling with detailed elements such as walls, doors, and windows, including parametric components and families.
• Point cloud import and scanning tools for existing conditions.
• High-quality rendering and visualization features.
• Tables, schedules, and data management for project information.
• Multistorey building creation with connected stairs.
• Physical and analytical modeling for coordination and structural analysis.
• Work-sharing capabilities for collaborative project updates.
• Interoperability with CAD formats such as IFC4, Rhino, SketchUp, OBJ, etc.
• Visibility controls and overrides for element appearance customization.
• Design and documentation of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Insight integration for performance optimization.
• Fabrication tools for converting design models to construction-level details.
• Construction modeling features including wall layer manipulation and shop drawings.
• API access and extension options via third-party solutions and add-ins.
• Import/export of 2D sheets and detailed annotation tools for construction documentation.
• Embedding project-wide parameters for design intent.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven track record with successful installation and deployment of similar software within the past five years, supported by signed reference letters.
• Ownership or rights to use all intellectual property attached to third-party licenses used.
• Ability to meet all specified technical features and functionalities outlined in the scope.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Registration and accreditation on the City of Johannesburg supplier database and the Central Supplier Database.
• Provision of a valid Tax Clearance Certificate or SARS PIN.
• Capability to provide ongoing support, maintenance, and training as required.
