Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to select a qualified service provider to deliver physical security services at the SALGA Building located at No. 41 Biccard Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, for a period of six (6) months. The aim is to ensure the protection of SALGA property by implementing security measures that prevent unauthorized access, damage, theft, or attacks.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of security personnel to monitor and control access to SALGA premises.
• Deployment of security officers on day and night shifts, with specific roles at the main gate and reception.
• Provision of backup staff to ensure continuous security coverage.
• Adherence to relevant laws and regulations governing security services in South Africa.
• Rotation of security officers within sites as needed based on security risks.
• Regular reporting and coordination with SALGA management.
• Compliance with SALGA’s security policies and procedures.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Deployment of 2 security officers at the SALGA building, covering day and night shifts.
• Security officers must have a minimum of Grade 12 education and relevant security training qualifications.
• Officers must be identifiable, well-trained, and capable of executing their duties effectively.
• Provision of a control room that is operational and inspected by SALGA before contract award.
• Availability of security officers on a 24-hour basis to respond to emergencies, including first aid.
• Provision of backup staff to accommodate fluctuations in security needs.
• Insurance coverage for the security personnel and related liabilities.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Registration under Section 20 of the Private Security Industry Regulations Act of 2001.
• Experience in providing security services to government or similar organizations.
• Ability to supply trained, identifiable, and professional security officers.
• Capability to rotate and replace security staff promptly as per SALGA’s instructions.
• Proficiency in emergency response, first aid, and law enforcement compliance.
• Strong project management skills to coordinate security activities and report progress regularly.
• Insurance and legal compliance to cover liabilities and claims arising from security operations.
