Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a Website Management Agency that will partner with the IDC’s IT and Marketing teams to enhance, support, and strategically manage the IDC’s website presence. The agency is expected to deliver expert guidance, maintain high-quality service standards, and implement innovative digital features to elevate the IDC’s digital footprint and customer engagement.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Driving strategic website development and management to meet modern standards.
• Identifying gaps and opportunities for website improvement and outlining detailed execution strategies.
• Implementing AI-driven virtual assistance tools (e.g., chatbots, guided self-service) for customer support.
• Enhancing engagement funnels, lead capture, inquiry management, and backend system integration.
• Uploading new content timely and removing outdated material.
• Performing ongoing website and security patching, including software updates, plugin/theme management, and configuration hardening.
• Supporting digital marketing campaigns with visibility, tracking, and analytics integration.
• Recommending and implementing intuitive, accessible, and AI-enabled website features.
• Providing end-to-end hosting for specified websites.
• Delivering creative website design aligned with IDC branding and latest industry best practices.
• Offering content generation, digital copywriting, and campaign support services.
• Ensuring compliance with security standards and POPIA requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the agency include:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, HTML5, Swift, and PHP.
• Expertise in website security, patch management, and configuration hardening.
• Capability to develop bespoke software and API integrations, including SEO and SEM solutions.
• Hosting the IDC website within South Africa, with verifiable hosting infrastructure and active client hosting evidence.
• Experience in managing multi-sectoral websites with references from similar projects, especially within government, SOEs, or financial sectors.
• Ability to deliver innovative, customer-first website designs and digital marketing campaigns.
• Use of analytics tools like Google Analytics, with regular reporting aligned to IDC standards.
• Capacity to provide end-to-end hosting, content management, and security updates.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified personnel with relevant skills and experience in website management, coding, design, and digital content creation.
• Experience in technical builds, API development, and integration, including SEO/SEM.
• Strong creative design capabilities aligned with IDC branding, including imagery, infographics, and multimedia content.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi-sectoral websites with references from similar clients.
• Expertise in user experience design, wireframing, prototyping, and user research.
• Experience in onboarding new clients and managing ongoing website updates and content uploads.
• Ability to deliver strategic counsel, innovative features, and continuous improvement based on analytics insights.
• Capacity to support digital campaigns, lead generation, and customer engagement initiatives.
