Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure electromagnetic location survey services to detect and characterize unknown objects buried within designated ground areas at Necsa. The survey aims to accurately identify subsurface objects, assess soil properties, and provide comprehensive data for site rehabilitation and safety assurance.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Survey of nine specific areas used for waste disposal, with known dimensions as detailed in Table 1.
• Utilization of electromagnetic methods to investigate subsurface conditions, including detection of buried objects and features.
• Processing and analysis of collected data to produce detailed reports.
• Presentation of findings through a 3D data visualization and a formal report with recommendations.
• Provision of raw data files in multiple formats (.csv, .gps, .dxf) and equipment specifications.
• Demonstration of technical capability via method statements and team CVs.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements for the survey include:

• Use of electromagnetic survey equipment with a minimum detection depth of 10 meters below ground level.
• High-quality data acquisition ensuring accuracy in identifying object depth and size.
• Generation of a 3D representation of subsurface data for lateral and depth positioning of objects.
• Provision of raw data files in soft copy, including conversions to .csv, .gps, and .dxf formats.
• Detailed equipment list with technical specifications, demonstrating compliance with minimum standards.
• Submission of a method statement outlining the approach and execution plan.
• Team members must have at least 5 years of relevant experience, with at least one registered professional member (proof of membership required).
• Equipment used must meet specified technical standards, including a minimum detection capability of 250mm.
• Presentation of findings via a PowerPoint presentation post-survey.

Additional Notes

Responses must include proof of company experience, team qualifications, equipment details, and compliance with relevant legislation and policies. The evaluation will consider technical capability, experience, and B-BBEE status, with a minimum functionality score of 80 out of 100 for responsiveness.
