Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure forklift training services that will prepare learners to operate Counterbalanced Lift Trucks F4 safely and effectively. The training aims to equip learners with the necessary knowledge, practical skills, and understanding of high-risk environments, physics of momentum, and communication skills required in industrial settings. The training also seeks to ensure compliance with Department of Labour regulations and to develop competent operators capable of handling forklifts in various operational contexts.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of accredited forklift training for Counterbalanced Lift Truck F4 drivers.
• Training to cover theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and safety procedures.
• Assessment of learners to ensure competency with a minimum pass mark of 70% for the written component.
• Delivery of training in accordance with Department of Labour regulations (Driven Machinery Regulation 18(11)), including high-risk environment awareness and operational safety.
• Provision of necessary tools, equipment, and training environment as per manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the forklift training include:

• Accreditation by the Department of Labour for Lift Truck Code 1-4 and Counterbalanced Lift Truck F4.
• Qualified facilitators and assessors with at least 3 years’ relevant experience and valid licenses.
• Training materials and practical tasks that demonstrate the ability to refuel, energize, park, and shut down the forklift.
• Access to a suitable lift truck environment with appropriate tools, attachments, and safety procedures.
• Compliance with health, safety, environment, risk, and quality (SHERQ) standards.
• Assessment of learners’ practical skills with a minimum competency score of 70%.

Skills Requirements

The skills requirements for the successful bidder include:

• Experience in delivering forklift training, specifically for Counterbalanced Lift Trucks F4.
• Qualified facilitators and assessors with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in operating and training on Counterbalanced Lift Trucks.
• Ability to develop communication skills in noisy industrial environments.
• Provision of practical coaching with a ratio of 1:1 depending on the forklift’s cab capacity.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, physics of momentum, and high-risk operational environments.
• Capability to assess and certify learners as competent operators according to regulatory standards.
